Economic Use in the BWCA
Ever since the BWCA was established, people have tried to use its resources for economic purposes. These purposes include: mining, logging, and development building. Thanks to the 1978 Act, logging, homesteads, road building, and other productions are banned. Before the acts of protection were put into place, visitors and workers in the BWCA did what they wanted. Because of the acts, these people now have certain responsibilities in order to protect the rights of the BWCA. A mining protection area was also created by the 1978 Act.
